Upper eyelid droop
Gelsemium sempervirens. Ptosis – paralysis of the upper eyelid (Causticum, Rhus toxicodendron, Sepia and Kalmia). Relaxation of the sphincters. Urine drips freely and involuntarily. Breathing is difficult. Double vision (diplopia). Paresis (incomplete paralysis) of the eye muscles. Slurred speech and redness of the face. Pain on moving the eyes (Bryonia).
Acidum nitricum. Dry, agonizing cough, with ptosis of both eyelids. Dry laryngeal cough with stinging. The neck is stiff and sore from the slightest cold. Dry, violent cough, with great weakness. Back neuralgia. The patient is sad and gloomy. The joints are very swollen. Pertussis dry cough. Fingers feel numb.
Cough with general mental depression. Nasty, profuse sweat on feet, with stitching pains, as from walking on needles. Weight loss. Drowsiness. Thirst. Night sweats. Emphysema with mucopurulent sputum. Congestion in chest, with heat, anxiety and palpitation.
Sepia. Ptosis with menstrual irregularities.
Causticum. Paralysis of the facial nerve and paralytic drooping of the upper eyelid (ptosis) from dry cold wind. Paralysis of the tongue with impaired swallowing and speech. Paralysis of the lips from taking a cold in severe winter cold (Aconite. Rhus toxicodendron. Dulcamara). Paralysis with distant symptoms of a stroke.
Children with thin legs and large swollen belly. Children start talking late. Inflammation of the eyes, with scabs forming on the lids. Purulent sticky eruption behind the ears. Vertigo, inclination to fall forward. Vision is blurred. Fog before the eyes. Dry and hot skin. Constipation with great tenesmus and redness of the face. Ptosis in rheumatic subjects.
Rhus tox. Paralysis of the upper eyelid (ptosis) from dampness (Causticum, Gelsemium, Sepia and Kalmia). The jaw cracks as soon as the patient makes chewing movements. Slight displacement of the mandible (Ignatia and Petroleum). A veil before the eyes. Pain in the eyes in the evening. Ptosis. Paralysis of the eye muscles from getting wet, colds from dampness.
Kalmia. Ptosis with dull feeling in lids.
