Inflammation of the meninges
Helleborus. Meningitis with effusion. Muscular wasting (Acidum muriaticum, Opium, Gelsemium, Saponinum, Conium, Curare and Kali carb.). Apathy. Shooting pains in the head. Sudden crying out of a child. Great depression, great pain in occiput and neck. He buries his hot head in the pillow. The forehead is wrinkled.
Chorea. Automatic hand movements at regular intervals. The face is filled with blood. Thirst. Constipation. Stool hard, scanty, like jelly. Urine dark, scanty. Ascites. Anasarca after nephritis or scarlet fever. Scanty, dark smoky urine. The urine sediment looks like coffee grounds. Jelly-like stool passes with great difficulty.
Opium. Edema of the brain. Breathing is loud and snoring. The face is dark blue or brown-red. The pulse is full and slow.
Belladonna. Inflammation of the meninges. Eyes dry and red. Red and swollen face. Scarlatina rash. Dry mouth causes frequent swallowing and glottis. Violent thirst, but worse from water. The pupils are dilated. Muscle twitching and convulsions. Full-blooded, obese and phlegmatic people (Calcarea ostrearum).
Inflammation of the meninges, delirium, the patient tries to escape, a flushed face, dilated pupils. They are cheerful when all is well, but extremely irritable when they are sick. Brain symptoms with twitching of limbs and irritability. Children are capricious.
Bryonia. The face is red. When moving, the child cries out in pain. The pupils do not react to light. The child makes chewing movements with his mouth. The patient greedily drinks water. Constipation.
Sulphur. Tuberculous meningitis. Tuberculous edema of the brain. The patient wants to lie down with his head down. Children scream in their sleep. Twitching of legs on falling asleep. The child screams in his sleep from fear. Red face. Dilated pupils. The body is hot. The patient demands to open the window.
Hot head, cold feet, eruptions. Frequent flushes of heat. Feeling of emptiness in the stomach at 11 o’clock in the afternoon. Heat in the crown. Cold feet. Hemorrhoidal bleeding. Congestion of blood to the head, with tinnitus and redness of the face. Worse outdoors. Better in a warm room. The head looks like it’s about to burst.
Zincum metallicum. Inflammation of the meninges (meningitis). The pains pierce through the head. Worse from wine and all stimulants. Tearing pains in occiput. Pain at root of nose. Scarlet fever with cerebral symptoms. Little rash. The skin is purple, blue and cold. Loud screams with body trembling. Finger picking in the nose (Cina, Arum triphyllum, Veratrum). Restless, jerky movements of the legs. Chorea.
Aconitum. Great anguish, restlessness and fear of death. Inflammation of the membranes of the spinal cord with fever, restlessness, fear, dryness of the skin. Dry hot skin, hallucinations and screaming in sleep.
Digitalis. Meningitis and cerebral edema. Pain in front of head. Edema of the brain with depression of sensitivity. Edema after scarlet fever. Slow pulse. Cold sweat all over body. Rave. Brilliant fireballs before the eyes. Objects appear to be colored blue or green (Santoninum). The pupils are dilated and do not react to light. Coma. Cold sweat. Painful frequent urination when standing. Frequent urination at night.
Apis. Meningitis. Spasms of flexor muscles. Shrill cries in sleep, nervous restlessness. The big toes are raised up.
Acidum phosphoricum. Apathy, with complete indifference to everything. The patient does not care whether he lives or dies. The patient awakens easily and then remains fully conscious. There is no complete muscle relaxation. No black coating in the nostrils.
If the delirium is small, but the pains are severe, white tongue, nausea, oppression and stupefaction – Bry.
Stiffness and paralysis of the lower limbs – Ox-ac. Paralysis – Gels; deafness – Sil, Sulph.
