For inflammation of the pharyngeal tonsils
Baryta carb. The best remedy for tonsillitis. Gets cold at the slightest drop in temperature. Purulent inflammation of the tonsils (tonsillitis) in children with diathesis. Worse from damp, cold weather. The right side of the pharynx becomes inflamed (Belladonna). Worse from empty swallowing. Upper lip and nose swollen (Calcarea).
Headache, back pain and diarrhea from cold. (Dulcamara). Food passes through painful places in the esophagus. Pain in stomach after eating. Stool with undigested food. Fetid sweat of feet (Silicea). Lagging mental and physical development.
Afraid of the cold. Women with delayed physical development, with scanty menstruation and heaviness in the pubic region. Hoarseness and aphonia. Elderly people with paralysis. Worse at night, in the morning and in cold damp weather. Better when walking in warm open air.
Phytolacca decandra. Hyperemia and swelling of the tonsils. Worse with fluctuations in atmospheric pressure. Neuralgic pains along the length of the bones. Better in dry, warm weather. Pain in all muscles. Worse in cold and damp weather. Pain when swallowing radiates to the ears. Hyperemia, swelling and pain in the mammary glands.
Worse from touch and pressure. Preferential side of the lesion: right. Thickening and ulceration of the tonsils. Consolidation of the parotid salivary glands. The tonsils are covered with a dark fibrinous film. Severe pain in the back and legs. Salivation with a metallic taste in the mouth.
Feels like a ball of red-hot iron in the throat. Difficulty swallowing. Diphtheria. Vomiting without nausea of undigested food, bile and blood. Accumulation of gases in the stomach and intestines. Better lying down and in dry, warm weather. Urine dark red. Acute and chronic orchitis.

Conium. Purulent enlarged tonsils.
Mercurius. Suppuration of the tonsils (Mercurius corrosives). Swallowed liquids are poured out through the nose. Angina with pale or bluish swelling and ulceration. Peritonsillar abscess. The tonsils are yellowish-red and covered with a thin fibrinous film. Diphtheria (Mercurius cyanatus). Fibrinous film of dark gray color. Angina with severe redness of the pharynx, ulceration of the larynx and complete aphonia (Mercurius iodatus).
Lachesis. Enlargement of the left tonsil. The throat is bluish-red. Swelling of the tissues surrounding the tonsil. Numbness. Purple and bluish rash. Sensation of constriction in the throat. Lump in the throat, which the patient must constantly swallow. Throat externally extremely sensitive to touch. Easier to swallow solid food. Tickling and irritating cough on falling asleep.
Pulsatilla. Angina. The tonsils are bright red. Dark red throat. Stitching pains in the throat (Apis). Worse when swallowing saliva or after eating. Ignatia. The tonsils are covered with small superficial ulcers of a yellowish-white color. There is a nail in the throat. Worse when the patient does not swallow. Constriction in throat, with nervousness and insomnia.
Tuberculinum. Tonsillitis. Melancholy. Enlargement of the adenoids. Apathy and restlessness. Hypersensitivity and excitability. Longing for fresh air. Fear of dogs. Anticipates the beginning of a thunderstorm (Medorrhinum, Phosphorus, Psorinum). Constipation is replaced by diarrhea. Dark forebodings. Sad and depressed. Weakness below the knees. They cannot recover from a cold. Sensitive to cold and chill.

Aurum. The tonsils are red and enlarged. Pain in the parotid gland, as from a bruise. Inflammation of the right testicle. Orchitis. Pain in the right hypochondrium. Cirrhosis. Edema. Melancholy and depression. Shortness of breath at night. Worse from prolonged walking. Purple face.
Ustilago. Inflammation of the left tonsil. A lump in the throat causes a constant desire to swallow. Wolf hunger with thirst at night. Burning in the stomach due to high acidity. Constipation, dry, lumpy and black stools. Dull pain in right hypochondrium. Urine, red and scanty. Pain in the eyeballs, with copious flow of tears. Dryness in nostrils. Dull pain in left ear.
Belladonna. Tonsillitis. The tongue is bright red with enlarged papillae, like a strawberry. There is a thin white coating on the back of the tongue. Zev is bright red. The right tonsil is enlarged. Symptoms develop rapidly. Severe spasms in the throat interfere with swallowing. Food is expelled through the nose and mouth. Worse when swallowing liquid than when swallowing solid food. Tonsils quickly suppurate.
Lycopodium. Enlarged and inflamed right tonsil. High fever and screaming in sleep. Children are capricious and irritable (Belladonna).
Baptisia. A membranous plaque covers the tonsils. Septic diseases with depression of the central nervous system, with putrefaction and with a slight temperature. Mouth full of ulcers. Weakness in all the muscles of the body. Weak delusional muttering. Dark red face. Tongue coated, brown and dry. Bad breath.
Dirty gray plaque on the teeth. The tongue is dry and red. Tongue shiny, cracked and ulcerated. The parotid salivary glands are enlarged. Stools, urine and sweat are offensive. The parts of the body on which the patient lies are painful. Worse in a closed, warm room. Better outdoors and fresh air.
Acute inflammation of the tonsils in the throat: at first, with chill and fever, Acon. If local phenomena increase, Bar-c. When suppuration is inevitable, Hep.
