Opium. Complete absence of peristalsis. Constipation. The defecation consists of round, hard and black balls. Complete cessation of digestion. Eyelids hanging down as if they were paralyzed. The pupils are dilated and insensitive to light. The intestines are filled with feces. Constipation without urging (Bryonia and Alumina).
Atony of the intestine. Defecation hard, round black lumps. Gas accumulates in the upper intestine. The defecation consists of small, hard, dry and black balls (Alumina, Plumbum and Bryonia). Accumulation of flatus in the intestines (Terebinthina, Lycopodium, Carbo vegetabilis, Colchicum and Raphanus).
Sensation of sand or dust in the eyes, with burning in them. White tongue, dry mouth. Thirst from cessation of mucus secretion. Violent cutting pain in abdomen. Lead colic. Nocturnal enuresis. Urinating bloody urine very often. Urinary retention. Nocturnal ejaculations. Complete impotence. There are no urges.
Mercurius corrosivus. Continuous, obstinate tenesmus before, during and after bowel movement.
Cicuta virosa. Much flatulence and rumbling in the abdomen. Constipation. Diarrhea. Involuntary excretion of urine. Very frequent urination. Strong jet pressure when urinating. Three ejaculations in one night. Ejaculation without voluptuous dreams. Menstruation starts later.
Plumbum. Spasms of the anus. Constipation with retraction of the abdomen. Spasm of the anal sphincter. The anus seems to be drawn by a rope into the rectum. Uremic convulsions. Defecation consist of hard and black pellets. Very severe pain spreads from the abdomen to other parts of the body.
Silicea. The defecation protrudes and goes back into the rectum. Weak peristalsis. Constipation, worse before and after menstruation. Silica is an excellent remedy for very severe constipation in the elderly, when the desire to empty the bowels is completely lost. The person may use their fingers to try and remove the defecation. For children who are very tense and feel a burning sensation in the anus.
Alumina. Constipation from inactivity of the rectum. Soft feces. Soft defecation require a lot of effort to pass. Dry mucous membranes. Weak peristalsis. Even a soft defecation requires a lot of effort. No urges.
Ignatia. Prolapse of the anus. Stitching pains shooting into the rectum. Constriction in anus after defecation. Better when sitting.
Thuja. Hard and black balls, leaning out a little, go back into the rectum.
Selenium. Huge feces cannot come out on their own. The patient is forced to get it with his fingers.
Camphora. Persistent constipation. Gas colic in the abdomen. Hard and difficult to pass defecation after a nagging pain in the abdomen. Itching and tingling in right groin. Pressure in the groin and at the root of the penis. Transient ascites.
Baryta Carbonica can help shy people who make great efforts to have a bowel movement.
Calcarea Carbonica is useful for chubby people. They have no desire to empty their bowels and do not feel any negative consequences of this.
Nux vomica. Constipation due to irregular peristalsis. The frequent and ineffectual urge to defecation leads to the release of only a small amount of feces. Hemorrhoidal colic, with blood on defecation. The enlarged liver returns to its normal size (Sulphur, Sepia, or Magnesia muriatica). Jaundice from anger and luxury.
Fainting fits. Hepatitis in alcoholics. The pains are relieved by hot drinks. Itching, makes waking up at night and for relief, compels to sit in a bath of cold water. Bleeding from hemorrhoidal cones. Nux vomica is indicated if there is hypersensitivity, impatience, frustration and irritability. The first cure for a hangover.
Bryonia. Constipation from dryness of the digestive tract. The defecation is profuse, dry and hard. Constipation from inactivity of the rectum. The defecation is profuse and dry. Dry mucous membranes. Dry, hard and charred defecation. Sheep defecation. No urges. Bryonia is useful for people who suffer from constipation when they travel. They experience a burning sensation when constipated.
Lycopodium. Severe and painful bowel spasms cause constipation. Frequent and ineffectual urge to bowel movement.
Sepia. Foreign body in the rectum. Fullness in the rectum, even after bowel movement. Soft defecation are difficult to pass.
Causticum. Frequent painful urge to defecation is accompanied by reddening of the face. Defecation comes out better standing up. The feces are dry, hard, crumbling and covered with mucus.
Anacardium. Frequent and ineffectual urge to defecation. Intestinal colic. Feeling of congestion, plugging in the rectum.
Chamomilla. Constipation from inactivity of the rectum. Hot diarrhea, smelling of rotten eggs. Green, watery bowel movement of feces and mucus. Mucus between pieces of feces. White mucous diarrhea with pain in the abdomen. Shooting pain in rectum after defecation. Blind hemorrhoids.
Phosphorus. Scanty, long, dry, hard feces. It looks like dog poop. Defecation comes out with great difficulty.
Natrium muriaticum. Strong straining and difficult exit of feces lead to bleeding and painful cracks in the anus. Constipation, with hard bowel movement. Fissures in the anus with bleeding. Wasting in children from insufficient feeding. They are gluttonous, but lose weight. Emaciation of the neck (Ledum). Expressed thirst. Heat and dry mouth.
Poorly tolerates floury foods, bread. Likes oysters, fish, salty and bitter food. Strong thirst. Hypochondria from constipation. Better after a bowel movement. Colic or numbness in the rectum. Hypochondria. Anger. Feces in large masses. The defecation resembles sheep droppings. Bleeding anus, compressed or torn. Hard defecation. Constipation with hemorrhoids.
Collinsonia. Intestinal colic accompanies constipation. The rectum seems to be filled with sharp pegs. Severe flatulence.
Graphites. Large knotty lumps of feces are connected by mucous filaments. Lots of mucus follows the bowel movement.
Prolapse of anus in children – Ferr-p. Diarrhea, bleeding, tenesmus – Aloe.
From moderate exertion in bowel movement – Ign. Falling out after every bowel movement or sudden movement, such as sneezing, in diarrhea, especially in the morning – Podo.
Diarrhea, green or yellow, with burning pains; or in hard, insufficient bowel movement and violent urging – Ham. Prolapse during urination – Mur-ac.
Constipation in persons leading a sedentary life, strong, lean; invalid urge to bowel movement; frequent urging, but very little comes out – Nux-v.
In persons prone to skin eruptions, suffering from fainting spells, flushes of heat to the head, or sinking sensation in the pit of the stomach about noon; frequent invalid urge to bowel movement, feeling as if the bowels had not yet been completely emptied; intermittently bleeding hemorrhoidal lumps – Sulph.
