Cold

Aconitum is most often used in winter. Fear and anxiety. The symptoms of a cold come on suddenly, after contact with a dry, cold wind. Severe headache, in the form of fullness or heaviness in the left temple, of a throbbing character. Face reddened, hot and dry, with inflamed eyes. Throat red and dry, with sensation as if something were stuck in the throat.

Tonsils red and swollen. Swallowing is difficult. Dry, irritating cough with little expectoration. General loss of strength.

Sulphur. Nose crusts. The nose bleeds easily. The wings of the nose are red and scaly. Nose stuffed up in the room, but breathes freely in the open. Laryngitis with hoarseness. The voice becomes very low. Sometimes complete loss of voice in the morning.

Mucopurulent sputum in bronchitis. Suffocation with palpitations. The patient opens the windows. The cough is aggravated by lying in a horizontal position. Early stages of tuberculosis.

Suppurations – Merc. Cough worse on slightest movement, pain in head on coughing; soreness in the limbs or in the body, worse from motion; dirty tongue, thirst – Bry.

Cough with streaks of blood in sputum that is difficult to pass, pain worse on right side, Sang.

An agonizing cough, worse at night; thirst, yearning, longing, fear of death – Ars. Fever, restlessness, fear of death; pain in region of heart, with pallor and fainting, Acon.

Prostration (collapse) – Camph. Sharp pain in heart, with palpitation and weakness, inability to lie on left side, Spig.

Pleuritic pains, aggravated by coughing, heat in head, night sweats, early morning diarrhoea, Sulph.

Morning diarrhoea, liver enlargement, Podo. Profuse stools, great pain, perspiration and cold sweat on forehead, Verat.

Sciatic neuralgia, Rhus, Ars-s-r. Weakness after influenza, Psor, Chin.
