Ignatia. Accumulation of acidic saliva in the mouth. Tendency to bite the tongue while chewing and talking. Foam from the mouth. The voice is weak, trembling. Difficulty swallowing liquids. Narrowing of the esophagus. Pain in the submaxillary glands when moving the neck. Aversion to milk, meat, cooked food and tobacco smoke. Intense pain in those parts of the body that are touched.
Sharp, intense pressing pain in limbs. Trembling in limbs. Convulsions alternate with respiratory depression. Attack of spasms and convulsions, with anxiety, fits of suffocation and spasms in the throat. Frequent yawning. Convulsive twitching after fright or grief. Great sensitivity to open air. Convulsions with laughter and crying.
Veratrum album. Constricting pain and tension in the face on one side. Twitching and spasms in the muscles of the face when chewing. Pustules on the face. Lips bluish, dry and chapped. Foam at the mouth. Jaw spasms. Soreness and enlargement of the submaxillary glands. Stinging taste in the mouth, as from hot pepper.
Stuttering. Aphonia, Sensation of stiffness and great dryness of the palate, with thirst. Spasmodic pain during swallowing. Coldness of the whole body. Cold, clammy sweat on forehead. The skin is cold, even when the patient is warmly wrapped up. Chilliness, trembling and thirst with desire for cold water. Cold along the back.
Gelsemium. Saliva yellowish, as if from blood. Putrid taste and fetid breath. Unpleasant feeling in the mouth, as from a fever. Lips dry, covered with dark mucus. Numbness of the tongue. It is so edematous that the patient can hardly speak. Partial paralysis. Dryness and burning in the throat. Dryness and itching in the throat when coughing.
Dryness in throat with hoarseness. Sensation of heat and constriction of the throat. Burning in the mouth, extending to the throat and stomach. Sensation of spasm and pain, as in convulsions, in the esophagus.
